All b series heads are compatible w/all b series blocks. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on that. If the engine in a 91 is a b18b then yes.

Your right, but why does that make a difference.

a head is just a head..
the only differences is that the ports have better flow
and emmisions have nothing to do with it
so you dont have to worry about obd
as long as you use the components from previous head ex

intake, distributor and so on..

the heads are compatible you just need to match up distributors. If you have an obd 0 then you need an obd0 distributor. Oh yeah remember that a b20 head will also fit also and I heard they flow better then a b18b.

so it wont matter about the disturbutor rite?. so i can use my obd0 dist and put in an 97+ head. which one is better for a rebuild head. use an ls head or go with the b20 head. do i need to change out the intake manifold and use a diff dist or anything else if i go with the b20 head. thanks for the tips guys.

I would gp with the b20 I have a skunk 2 manifold that I boughtfor my b18 head on my car and the directions say that it fits the b20 and the b18 so I assume that they have the same bolt pattern which means that you can reuse all you stuff from you b18 head but if you are going to port and polish then it really doesn't matter what head that you use.

yes you can do it. keep your OBD0 dizzy, injectors.
go to http://www.g2ic.com and do a search for b18b head swap in the forums section. there is even a image for doing vaccum lines.
