Default Real Dilemma with the Lude

The prelude is my brothers car and hes been having a lot of problems with it lately. It seems like a problem after another, and hes gett'n fed up with it now. Hes considering to get an S2000 and keep it stock. But I dunno what do you guys think?

honestly, i have no idea what to think. it's really ambiguous to say 'problems' and not continue with what symptoms the car is experiencing. is it an SS auto? there have been lots of reported problems from those transmissions and theyre petitioning to do a recall..
i think you should hit us up with some details regarding your dilemma, i'm positive a few people will be able to give you some words of wisdom.
good luck.

Its a 5speed SH with a JRSC and some other goodies . Maybe it was just the mood today cause yesterday he had problems cause the car started to stutter after he put in some gas. But now he found out the problem is just the loose sparkplugs. And last week there was an oil leak, a hanging hose from the blower, and loose hose spilling gas. That was all taken care of, yeah he asked me if I wanted it and I would gladly take it off his hands. But after highschool (i'm a junior) I'm going into the military so I don't need a car. Most likely I'll drive it and maintain it and then sell it after I graduate and then he can have his S2k. Is it true that they are mak'n an S2k for 2k4 that has most power?

The rumor is that the S2k will have a 2.2, but will still have only 240 hp but with increased torque.

the USMC is far beyond the "military"

are you in the dep program? saying oorah i'm guessing you are or spend alot of time with the recruiter. just to let you know the EGA is not yours yet and display it as your avatar might cause some people to take offense.

I've spent 2 and a half years in the JROTC program at my school, I don't talk much with my recruiter as hes not try'n to recruit me right now. And Yes I know that showing a picture of a Eagle Globe and Anchor might bring some offense but I think its like wearing the Marines t shirt. Just cause I'm not a Marine doesn't mean I can't show my appreciation for the Marine Corps. I never said I was a Marine so I hope no one got the wrong Idea but I can't wait til I'm a Marine. 0311 OORAH!

The rumor I heard was far different. My best friend has a 2k1 S2000 and his neighbor has a 2k2 and while they were each at their dealerships having their cars serviced the salespeople talked about the 2K4 or 2K5 S2000's output being pushed closer to 280 hp. This is primarily in response to Porsche upping the hp on the Boxster S, the S2000 closest rival (ignoring the $18k price difference) to @250 (?) because even with the low torque #'s the 2K/2K1/2K2 S2000's were consistently whipping it's *** (up until the 2k3's were released anyway.)

It was also reported that Mugen, in partnership w/Honda of Japan (all S2000's are still made entirely in Japan) is experimenting with a stroked & modified F20C motor that, according to a publication that was out about 4 months ago, is producing hp numbers close to 280 with torque well over 200. The mods supposedly involved different cams, IM, etc, the works. There is also a guy that posts on S2KI that works at King MS and he has been leaking information since December. Check S2KI for more info.
