With 100k+ miles on the clock, the b17a was quite tired. The rings were shot, and I didn't have the money to rebuild it the way I wanted to, so I parted out the motor, and bought the JDM b18c.

I beg to differ. I parted out the b17a, and made quite a bit of money there. (sold the head, crank, bare block). Since it was already a b-series vtec, I reused my stock tranny (YS1) ECU (p61), and axels. I just needed a b18c short block, and I got a smokin good deal on that.

I get that one a lot. I traded them straight up for that set of mint Si's. I really liked how they toned the car down a bit. I am a big fan of OE styling. I think they look nice, clean, and subtle.

I have that same car you do only still running the B17a. I was wondering hows the B18. Is it better in anyway. And why the B18, not another B17 or B16. I drove B18 car and they don't pull as hard as B16's or B17's. What's your responce on it..

Did you drive a B18C, or a B18A, or B18B? B18C's make more power, and more torque than any b61a, or b17a. That is why I chose to go with the b18c, as apposed to a b16, or b17.

I defineately noticed a difference with the b18c, especially low end. But then again I added a bunch of bolt-ons when i installed the motor.

I drove all B18's and so far I haven't been amazed at any of them (stock), besides the B18c5. I shity part of the B18's are the intake manifold and the tranny.
GABE I see you do have the best investment on the skunk IM, what tranny are you using, the stock B17??? if so I see you posting alot is that you on the icon. lol
