Will Mugen brakes fit under 15" wheels?
As title states, will the Mugen front brake set(caliper, rotor, pads, breaklines) fit 15" TE-37s? Mugen suggests using 16s but I have heard different stories. Please help........
I dont get it... what exactly are you paying $1300 for? Painted calipers, rotors/pads/lines?

Mugen Active Gate Brake System
Mugen’s Active-Gate Brake System is a high-efficiency front brake system that provides outstanding braking performance and control at all times, even under the harshest usage conditions, such as circuit driving. With conventional brakes, the heat generated deforms the rotor and reduces pedal responsiveness and control. With the Active-Gate Brake System, the unique rotor cross-sectional design actively draws cooling air from the rotor interior. This revolutionary braking system minimizes heat deformation to maintain a responsive pedal touch

They are rebadged S2000 brakes - they need minimum 16" rims to clear.
NSX brakes fit under a 15" rim though - and are two piston instead of one and use a much thicker rotor.

cheaper yes
superior? i can't answer that - but replacement rotors will be cheaper. modulation is "apparently" better with a two piston setup as is pad wear (more even).
I just switched to the NSX setup and find braking MUCH better than before.

You use '94 Legend coupe rotors (same as NSX but cheaper) which are 28mm thick instead of the stock 23 mm.

OMG! I thought BMW aftermarket crap was expensive! I can get a 14" two piece rotor with 4 piston monoblock caliper BBK's for that much!
to any JDM-blingers that buy that chit!

Yes i'm posting after the lock, and i dont care.
The point was, I had never heard of this kit and was asking about it - maybe i missed something (i've been know to do that), because i was absolutely boggled at the cost of some re-badged stock parts, pads and lines.

I have a ring full of jello when you two are ready to throw down
A buddy had this setup, mugen brakes, not a ring full of jello, on his EG. I don`t think it stopped very well at all. I`d rather have a Fastbrakes Wilwoood Kit that I know will fit under 15`s.

A decent BBK with 2-piece rotors, just the rotor itself would cost over $400 a piece. Assume you get 2 of those ($800) plus SS lines ($200) and pads ($150), you're in 4-digit number already.
For the Mugen kit, although the rotors are not 2-piece, they have directional vanes. Not generic blank rotors. With everything you see in the pic: rotors + calipers + SS lines + pads, $1300 isn't *too* bad IMO.
Just save the hammer for yourself.

And they are lighter weight than a stock S2000 rotor.
The other factor is that the rotor diameter is larger than the stock ITR, and it's thicker.
Finally you are also getting really nice mesh lines and Mugen brake pads are super yummy.

seriously it's not bad at all, if it's 1300. i thought just spoon caliper is 1300 already.

That wasnt the point at all. I was clarifying the point made earlier that i wasnt just trying to flame the mugen setup or the poster.
Sure i could have been more tactful in my original post but some of you guys get your panties in a bunch way too easily. Relax.
