Who has a real Euro R H22A(JDM) or an EDM H22A7 in their Accord?
I'm curious, I swapped in the JDM Euro R H22A and I love it, but I've yet to meet someone else with said motor. I'm just looking for some peers as far as tuning the bastard and tips and tricks. Those with lude motors need not apply.
Were did you get it from and how much, I am running a type S and spec wise it's almost identical. The euro produces a little less torque that the type S.
I've heard that the Euro R produces the most torque of any H series... 163ft-lbs at the crank according to several sources, how much tq does the Type S put out? I got my Euro R through a private overseas purchase.

The type S isn't the same as the Euro R. The Type S is an inbetween meant for the Prelude Type S in Japan which ISN'T a Type R grade car. it's a performance luxury coupe. Honda had only release the Accord Type R in the UK and eastern Europe with the H22A7 engine, rated originally at 212hp and 155tq.
people in Japan started to bitch and moan that they didn't get the Accord Type R so since, the ATR was built in Europe they called the Japanese version the Accord Euro R, with a 220hp, 163tq h22a. After production of the Euro R JDM H22A, the specs were then transferred to the EDM H22A7. So now, those two engines are identical. The names are weird I know.

when did the japaneese get the accord type R. Last thing that I heard that it was going to be a Euporean car only and japan had no intentions on even bringing it over from england. I know that japan has an accord R but was under the impression that it was completely different than the euro version. What year did they change that.
The Japanese Euro R is the version of the Type R. I uses the JDM body style instead of the EDM body style(hence why it looks like a 6th gen sedan). The 7th gen looks like the "Acura" TL concept.
Which brings me to another point, I'm sick of Acura ripping off good Hondas and defacing them with they're silly caliper and low cost fixin's.... They call the TL a concept when it's not, it's the JDM Accord Sedan.
Anyway, I digress.

i agree with you totally Vexamus. acura needs to get their own ***** together and get something original like they did with the integra. keep on expressing your opinions. i'm glad to hear someone else feels the same way i do. and thanks for the clarification on the H22s. good to know.
p.s. -- what else do you have on your car? can you share some of your specifics with brlfed1 and myself?

the prelude Type S is not an inbetween car compared to an Accord R, they are on a level playing field performance wise, its not anymore or less refined or 'raw'. The Lude Type S or ATR is not equal with a CTR or ITR however.
a "Type S" motor is not a Type S motor, the
a Prelude Type S has the ATTS system like an Prelude SH, the "Type S" motor everyone claims to have in this country unless it has ATTS hooked up and everything with the weird ATTS tranny they actually have an h22a from a Prelude Sir S-Spec
and the Euro R h22a wasnt rated at 220hp, its 220ps, or about 216-217hp

When did the h22a7 debut?
I always thought the suffix numerical coding was a US-Spec only thing.
There is a guy on http://www.hondasociety.com with the euro R motor in his accord.

I hear that, the ECU that came with my Euro R is like a "PCD" or something, I've NEVER heard of it.
I tried selling it on EBay and it was a flunk so it's just in my basement taking up space.
H23 is non-vtec.. the bluetop accord is an F20B, DOHC VTEC.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm not claiming to know all about Honda. I just wanted to know who had the rare motors(Type S, Type R, Euro R)

yes h23 is non-vtec, and the f20b is a bluetop, but i don't think its VTEC
but there is an h23a VTEC bluetop also now.

yes! very rare motor indeed. I think it only came on some Accord Station Wagons, but i don't know in what market, what year or what generation.

Ok, so these are the specs? Correct me if i'm wrong...
Accord Type R - H22A7 212hp 155tq
Accord Euro R - H22A 220hp 163tq
And the Type S engine isn't the same engine as the Euro R? Or is it the same?
The specs I have list the Type S engine at 220hp 153tq.
Also, which car does the JDM H22A (92-95) with 200hp and 163tq belong to?
And is the more powerful Euro R H22A just an updated version that engine?
I thought I knew but after the thread this seems a bit more confusing.
BlackPrelude: the f20c is the s2000 engine i believe.
