No it is not a rumor one was towed back to the dealer with a rod hanging out the side of the block and the other seized up and will not turn over.

Really? My friend drove one and I watched him shift from 2nd gear redline into 1st, the tach shot to 9k+(past the end). Luckly the salesman wasnt in the car so we did a couple of 6k+ drops and powershifting. Very nice car by the way.

Where is the RSX manufactured? If it is made in Amreice then broken parts are to be expected.

Look on the Vin, if it starts with a J then the car is entirely made in Japan with like 5% American/Foreign parts. If it starts with a number, then the car has a good part of it made in America.....

The RSX is made in Japan. It starts out pretty much like a Integra VIN but it's a DC5.

The Celica GT-S had this problem because with the 6 gears, the spacing was really tight so it was easy to grab 2nd instead of 4th.

that's pretty damn cool. the dealer isn't there so lets beat the **** out of this car and see if we could blow it

how'd you like it if a valet dropped the clutch in your car at 6k and then shifted to first at 60 mph. i think you'd be getting out the shotgun.
get a clue man.

I totally agree. Why would you abuse someone else's future car like that? You wouldn't want to buy a car that's been taken for crazy test spings like that..

that's funny. The gearing is such that its really EASY to miss-shift. Everytime I upshifted into 5th, I missed it. The left-to-right spacing between 3 and 5, and btwn 4 and 6th is REALLY close. I can see putting it into 3rd instead of 5th. Damn, Basically, I wouldn't down shift. Hmm, maybe I'd just make a Long Shifter that would make the throws longer! j/k

Actually, the solution to the problem is Practice and Learn to shift it right, Honda did a lot of R&D on these and I am sure they thought about all of that and would not have brought it to market if there was a real problem, Car makers dont like warranty repairs, it brings their product down and costs LOTS
