Throttle body sensor bad
My friends 5th gen TBS is out on his car. He really doesnt want to purchase a whole new TB. So this brings me to my ?s: Is it worth trying to change just the TBS or would we just be wasting our time? Any opinions on which TB (namebrand) to purchase if we do have to get a whole new TB? opinions on the subject would be much appreciated.

I'm guessing you need a TPS? Throttle position sensor. You can take one off any junkyard honda TB. Cut notches in the twistoff screws to get the old one off and then install the new one. Adjust it's position so that you have 0.5v on the middle wire at closed throttle with the ignition on. If you have an ohm meter, you can adjust it that way too, which would be easier to do with it out of the car. Thane tighten the two screws. I think I have a spare TPS from a junkyard if you can't find one.
i believe i also have a bad tps. i can't find a junk honda with a motor anywhere near kentucky. is the tps the sensor on the rear of the butterfly piece of the throttle body where the air intake connects? if so, this piece disconnects from the throttle body, i had it off yesterday. wouldn't it be easier to just get another one of these pieces than try to get the sensor off?

I'm sorry, it's just too funny. All kinds of Jeff Foxworthy material comes to mind.
