see... i live in B.F.E. and have a garage!
so the threat of theft is VERY low...
shitty i still have the pay the insurance costs tho
i'm thinkin' about it

my opinion: if you really have to think about the 'options' and 'amenities' then you really don't need a type r in the first place. stick with your gsr because the r has a different concept to it.

A/C can be retrofitted to those ITR's that did not come so-equipped, and you can talk to "D" about adding cruise control.

I bought my Type-R for quite a bit more than just the engine and a little weight savings, I bought it for the frame, the suspension, the brakes, the LSD, the gears, the engine, and quite a few other reasons...I have AC, do I miss any of the others....not really.

I didn't get a type R because:
1) Didin't have much money and didn't think I could affored it.
2) Didn't have much money and even if I could afford it, I couldn't justify putting it through a Montreal winter
3) The above reasons are all linked to money (and that's the REAL reason I didn't get the ARR) but I "justified" it to mayself by saying" Well it has no Sunroof, A/C, cruise or leather.... blah blah blah....
The sad part is, shortly after I got my GSR ( a year later) a got a great promotion at work, and could have kept my old car and afforded the Type R. Plus the dealer HAD a CW one with the Candian red seats just sitting in the show room that sold a few months later...
I love my GSR, but I'm sad that I will never have the chance to perchase a brnad new Type R...
One of the main things I would love to try is the LSD, I really think our cars should have come with it. Next car I get will have one... (IS300

I want the amenities...........the one reason why I dont get a type r is because it doesn't have a sunroof....thats why I'd much rather put a type r motor in a GS-R, take out the back seats, and call it a day
The only thing that would keep me from it would be theft/vandalism concerns. Talk about paranoid, I'd be worried to take it anywhere.

as i step in my garage i look right...and i see my beautiful LS....then i take alook right...and i see my brothers SExy *** type r....so nah ill stick with the LS...why should i get an R if my brother got one...
i almost bought a black ITR in my area. It was about the same price that i paid for my GSR but in the end decided against it because i couldnt pay the insurance. For as much driving as i do in my GSR, im happy i picked it. An extra 20hp isnt enough to justify a loud and ammenityless ride. All in all, I like the R's alot, perhpas if i had another car for a daily driver i would get one.

If I ever buy an ITR, it's for the same reasons. I don't use Cruise, I would suffer through not having a sunroof for the overwhelming performance benefits.
