Nankang tires any good?
Looking for some 18" tires and saw these on ebay for super cheap, are they very poor quality? Good/bad wear, I'm not too concerned about traction, not laying down much power
they suck ***, i had them on my 17" tsw, and they lasted ohh a month. If your looking a for a good cheap tire take a look at the kumo 711 or 712, a good cheap tire.

I had Nankang EX500's for 40,000 miles, lowered 2.5" at -2.3 deg. camber. They wore very evenly, were okay in the rain, but there are other MUCH better tires out there.

lets see...
a 205/40/17 Nakang has no speed rating... just 205/40/r17
They say M+S on them, meaning MUD AND SNOW
They have a 340 treadwear rating on them... YEAH RIGHT
They look like off-road tires with the tread ***** they have...
Basically, if you want a 38x7.5x17 then SURE go for it!
That would be a cool tire! but not a 205/40/17

I had the exact same tire, and lasted about 40K. Like someone said, the rubber seem too hard, where it sometime loose traction on loose dirt much more easier than other tires. Even at 40K, there still meat left.
So what happened? On Xmas eve, I got the urge to rotate my tires. On one of them, the inside sidewalls started to bust where the steel belts were coming out. And I was about to drive 200mile trip the next day. If I hit the road, the tires would have busted, and who know.......
I would not have discover it if I did not get the urge to rotate my tires.
GLD - No on Nankang.
