Yes it does. It came with a fender eliminator kit and the rear piece(that holds the seat and tailight) is aftermarket. I don't know the term for it since I'm a rookie in the game.

I bought a set but when I got home and read the directions, it said I needed to cut a hole in the fairings to install it. WTF? Don't they make any bolt-on sliders?

Nerdish: Undertail sounds like the right term.

your frame sliders ARE bolt-on, it's just that you need to drill a hole in your fairing to access the bolt they make frame sliders that just replace a fairing bolt, but a lot of people have had problems where the frame slider would just snap off when they went down. The frame sliders on my bike attach using the engine mount bolts (I think that's what they are)... installation was pretty easy, you can find how-to's all over the net. If you're in SoCal you can borrow my hole saw, or better yet I can show you how to do it.

edit: here are some pics

Well I'm not in SoCal but I really don't want to drill into my fairings. I should have just gotten a gixxer where the frame sliders ARE bolt-on, by "bolt-on I mean one does not need a hole saw to install them. I guess I'll have improve my riding and make sure I don't drop the bike.

Drilling your fairings isn't that big of a deal... if you can't do it yourself, just pay a shop to do it for you. Oh well, do what you wanna do

yeah you would want to do it yourself because some shops charge you up to $100 to install them. And drilling holes to install your framesliders are VERY common. Almost every bike ive seen has them drilled

Anybody in NOVA have a hole saw I can borrow or tell me where you live and I'll ride my bike there to do this project?

I'm worried about drilling holes in my fairings too. Maybe I'll see how it goes tonight.

I wish I could get a set of frame sliders that mounted via engine bolts. The 6r only offers fairing mounts and I know they're not going to do much. If you want to meet up I'd be more than happy to help/watch/drink beer and laugh at your mistakes... Just kidding, rain til saturday and starting back up monday.

Nope, I'm headed for Myrtle this Saturday for a whole week of fun in the sun. Holla at me the week after that or just come over, I'll be in the garage working on the civic.
