indiglo gauges, dash guages, wiring question HELP?
All right, I bought a set of indiglo dash guages from some company, installed them exactly the way they said to in the instructions, they said to wire two power wires, one ground and one power to the dimmer switch. I did that and everything worked great for like a week, NOW THEY DONT WORK ;;what the ****? I am thinking that that samll black box thing burnt out? is it a transformer or a relay,, dont know....did anyone wire their dash guages to the dimmer switch? HERE IS MY MAIN QUESTION. there are three sections of the dash guages, each has its own power and ground that run into the little black box. can I just run all of the power wires from each section together right to a power source? or do I need that little black box>???? These gauges were real bad *** untill they didnt work no more. I NEED TO FIX THIS >>>CANT SEE AT NIGHT TIME.. TACH OR SPEED......please help
mine did the same thing, for some reason the power source I used stopped working, so I just used a constant source(constant once car is on) & it worked. Try that. I just took mine out b/c I got sick of them-I think it looks better w/o them.
took everything apart to investigate. little black transformer box was not burnt out. The transformer box had four plugs coming from it. each polug went into a section of the lights. well there are only three. so the one that I did not have plugged into anything must have somehow rubbed metal and shorted out everything. changed power source, taped up extra connection, everything is A O>K> now.....
