i would agree about getting a garage as the most important safety feature. then i would get an alarm, autolock, RS door bezels, and a kill switch. i will be doing a kill switch this week. check out this link

Get good insurance coverage and drive it like a normal person and if at all possible block it in by like 10 other cars, that should slow the th33v3z down.

I flew out of BWI (Baltimore) to CT last week and drove the R to the airport. Left it in the unattended lot, alarm disarmed and the doors unlocked. Came back and nothing was touched. Musta scared them off being "too" available.

Immobilizers can be bypassed in 2 seconds.
I've heard of several people here getting theres stolen out of their garage.
Universal Keys for our cars can be bought off the internet.
A lot of Rs get towed away.
I would suggest, if you're serious:
1. replace the ignition with something other than a honda one.
2. Replace the door locks.
3. Weld metal over the ECU and the cables going to the ecu.
4. Get the new Viper GPS alarm for $700.

-remove ecu if parked for long periods of time or you cant keep an eye on it
-use club and autolock together (they arent 100% theft proof but layering helps)
-get an alarm that has an ignition kill switch
-to further back up the above, hardwire a toggle kill switch, its been discussed a lot, do a search for fuel pump kill switches
-garage the car
-keep it covered if it must stay outside
-pull ecu fuse
-lowjack
etc etc the list goes on. none are 100% theft proof but when done with other methods it should help. the goal is to make the car virtually undrivable so that only a tow truck and some "good" thiefs can get it. but my view is hey if they can actually tow my car and get away with it clean, i bow to them. they r gonna take it regardless. just dont let me see my stuff being sold, or dont let me find the shell. if youre gonna take it dont let me see ANYthing from it.

hmmm lower your car, its a pain for yourself but a tow truck cannot get under my car unless i raise it back up(coilovers)..and a flatdeck truck isnt feasable for most theives

Just be a smart owner. Parking it outside in the open, in the same place, day after day is just asking for trouble - even if it is your driveway. Use a car cover at least - that way thieves have a harder time seeing it. Car covers aren't practical - (car should be clean) but it's better than nothing.
Don't advertise your car i.e. avoid going to cruises, show and shines, car shows where the criminal element will be casing out your ride. Just like when you have a thumping audio system - don't drive all over town with it blastin basically telling everyone you have thousands of dollars of equipment in the trunk.
Avoid shady install places with high staff turnover like stereo shops, alarms shops, and performance places. Get to know people that work on your car - and always deal with them. Refer your friends to them if you have a good experience to pay them back for good service you receive.
Never leave your car unattended at malls, theatres i.e. anywhere with huge parking lots. You're better off parking on the street in a highly visible area.

I think most theives will be bringing their own ecu.

installing a kill switch is cool. I just disconnect a ignition wire and either take it with me or stick it in the trunk.
My solution is just get full coverage insurance and drive it. If you are worried about your car being stolen than get a 82' Crown Victoria to drive everyday. Not many theives would steal that.
Insurance is the key here; $0 comprehensive deductible for me so I say bring it on thieves! I'd love to go out and buy a new STi
Any basic alarm with hood pin, impact sensor, and backup battery is fine. The whole Viper GPS alarm stuff (and all alarms $700 and up) are a waste of money. Figure this, take the money and spend it on good insurance instead.

of course some will, but as i said before, nothing alone is 100% which is why u must layer. them.
