Default 89 or 90 tranny in a 88 crx?

i heard d series cable transmissions between the 88, 89, and 90 are all different from each other.. so is it not possible to swap a 90 tranny into a 88 crx?

hmm.. so the newer tranny will bolt up you just need the specific clutch for the tranny? i.e. 88 d16a6, 90 transmission, 89-91 clutch. correct?

im not sure but...if you have a 88 A6 with a 90 trans ..i would buy a 90 clutch/fly.

if you had a 89 A6 with a 88 trans ..i would get a 88 clutch/fly...make sense?
thats what i would do anyways..im not sure though...id also have to do my reseach.
