False, get one thats too light and your car will die every time you let off the gas and clutch. Mine does, nearly. 7.5 is too light IMO.

I just got a ACT XTSS and Xact Prolight 8.8lbs (ACT doesnt make a 7lb). Fizdeana, Comptech, and Clutchmaster make a 7lb flywheel, though.

Bad in traffic, aka STALL CITY.
With the ligthened flywheel the revs drop faster so it's easier to stall out.

The lighter your flywheel is the faster your car accelerates. BUt we all know...there is no such thing as a free lunch. You sacrifice your car's torque going with an extremely light flywheel.
I went with a cheap 7.5 lb flywheel and there were hotspots within a month. I didn't like the loss of torque. So now I am planning to go with a 12 lb flywheel for my GSR.

i wish i would have gone with an itr flywheel on my ls when i installed my act hdss clutch this week.. but i wasn't positive if the itr flywheel would fit and i didn't want to pay to have it machined only to find out that it didn't...

What kind of difference did you notice with the ITR flywheel? I always wondered if it was light enough to make a noticeable improvement over stock.
I'll be running an ITR PP and flywheel with the setup I'm currently building.
