Default Brake Lights Stay on???? Help!

Ok, I think I posted something bout parking lights, but now that I check them....all brake lights on my '93hatch stay on? It drained my battery and it sucks! Is there a lever that goes out behind the brake pedal? Need some helpful info. Thanks in advance! Peace

I had a similar situation happen to me.

When I would turn my parking lights on, my brake lights would light up and stay on. And if my lights were off and I put my brakes on, it would light up my parking lights while I was applying my brakes.

Come to find out after looking at everything, I had noticed that the filament (sp?) for the brake light had burned up and the end that came loose was touching the filament for the driving/parking lights causing a short.

So you might want to check the rear bulbs for any loose filament that is causing a short....

Only thing that I can think of and share from my experience.

There's a switch on your brake pedal's backside that closes when the pedal is pushed down. If that switch moved in any way and isn't making contact with the actual brake pedal arm anymore, your lights will stay on.
Hope that helped out.
