Maybe you guys can help me out here or give me some probable causes...

Sometimes after I turn my car off and then try to turn it back on, it turns over but wont start up. If I wait for maybe a minute or so and try again it starts right up. There is also a smell of gas in the car....fuel filter, or fuel pump gone bad maybe?

 

Sounds like the main relay.

 

invest in a fuel pressure guage, i had the exact same problem with my car, next time your car won't start, check your fuel pressure, it will reveal alot

my fuel pressure was too high, making my car flood, then after sitting and the fuel pressure dropping, the car would start up

the fuel pressure guage was probably the best $10 i've spent on my car

 

oh yea, also check your main relay and check for spark, might be the ignitor, is your tach acting funny?

 

nah the tach is working fine; do they sell fuel pressure gauges at autozone or pep boys?

 

any more thoughts?
