Default First time at track..whats your opinions???

Well i have a 90 crx dx with an 92 b18a1. As far as mods go i have i/h/e and other little **** like advanced timing, exedy clutch, moroso wires, NGK plugs and other small stuff. Well i wanted to see what it would do in STREET trim...i didnt remove anything...not even the spare tire and jack. I even had drink bottles and **** in the floorboard . Like i said...STREET trim lol. The only difference is that i had nitto 555r's on there at 21psi. This was also my first time at the track. Keep in mind that this is an 1/8th mile track. Well my first 2 runs were 9.8's...then i busted out a 9.67 then my best of the day a 9.61. I was having traction problems even with the Nittos...so next time ill have 20 inch slicks and something making a weird whistling and WHOOSHing noise under the hood Heres the slip for the best one.

reaction .942
I1 2.176
I2 6.274
ET 9.617
MPH 74.037

I dont really know what the I1 and I2 is...im thinking the I1 is 60ft? But overall im pleased for my first ever drag racing experience. What do you think my 1/4 would be with those numbers? Thanks.

Sean

yes the first number should be 60ft, at 1/8 mile i was doing about 10sec's i believe, will have to check the slips again, i was running mid/low 15's with d16a6

I know what your traction problem was, you need to really heat those tires up for them to get good grip at the strip. I've got the same tires and I keep mine at 20 psi. Make sure and light them up really well before staging.

Traction problems? a 2.1 second 60' is great! I wish I could touch 2.2's!!! What elevation are you? Seems kinda slow for your engine/mods.

Honestly i dont know the elevation...but i swear to god it says 2.176 for my 60 foot. LS engines have a shitload of torque so it honestly doesnt surprise me. I wouldnt really call my traction issues a "problem"...but i was spinning alot of the way through first and some a little in second. Only if i had some top end power...oh well...guess thats what the turbo is for...

It might be a little slow...but you have to remember that i had WELL over 100lbs of stuff that i didnt need in there. Plus it was my first time ever. There was a crx with a b16 that was more modded than mine and it was running 9.9's consistantly and hit 9.7 once. So im pleased with my dohc non vtec, daily driven beater...lol.

I2, in this case, is your 330' time. I'd guess that 1/8 time to be good for high 14's at 92ish in the 1/4- it's ~.05 and .5mph quicker than my Cavalier managed on the way to 15.07s at 90.5, and I'd guess even an LS-powered CRX has a better topend than my mostly-stock Z24 did.

If you're going turbo, I'd use a larger slick than 20"- 22x8" on 13" wheels sounds about right for that combo: it'll have a larger contact patch, while still giving your axles a chance.

my first time running my b16a crx was 9.8@72mph, street trim, stock suspesion, did not do no burn out, and oh yeah and no vtec engaging.

b16 rex's will own a b18a/b in the 1/4 because what they lack in torque they make up for in top end.
