Tociko illuminas vs. Koni Yellows
I am trying to decide on which one of these two shox to get. Is there a big difference in them. I have a 91 hatch. There is a sale going on on Groupbuycenter where I think you get all four Koni shox for $509 shipped and the Tociko's are about 380 shipped for all four. I heard Koni's are wll worth the money but are they that much better? Thanx

ive heard nothing but great stuff about the illuminas. i myself plan on getting those struts. koni yellows are also good but i havent heard as much feedback on those.
search around on the road race/autocross forum you will find out alot of stuff about konis, also you can pm CRXlee and see what he says about the two.
IMO i would go with the konis, but then again i am race biased

one thing to remember is that koni's, SP, BTW make sure to get those if buying them, are only rebound adjustable, where illuminas are both bound and rebound adjustable.

Koni yellows are great but cost like $200 more than the Tokico illuminias. To me I don't see the yellows being that much greater, people will give you loads of props for having them at autocross though.
I don't know about the warrenty drop, though I need to find out because I have bad expereinces with KYB's in the past. I had a 2000 Si that I put KYB's and Ground Control's on and I slammed it like 2" inches for only like a week and they just f'd up bad.

I have a set of koni yellow's on my 88' dx and I have nuspeed sports I think they are about 1.75 in drop maybe more but they ride good and stiff. I love them they were like night and day compared to the stock struts. And to tell you the truth when my friend adjust his KYB's to stiff he has sway bars and a complete hyperflex kit and front and rear sway bars and my car still seems to be stiffer. Anyway I give props to koni.
I had the agx's first before the illuminas, and they didn't do it for me either. They didn't control wheelhop enuff, didn't absorb bumps enuff, and my car bottomed out more with them compared to the illuminas, got rid of them for like $40.
i personally love the koni's, i've had tokico blue to AGX and finally graduated to Koni yellow when i threw in my B swap, and i used the same springs with all setups, before my car was scraping on everything and bounce was getting lots of applause from all the cholos on my block but then i slapped on some koni's up front gave them a couple of turns and there is nothing but smooth stiffness.

Nothing. I would recommend them to anyone who is on a budget since they're great shocks for the price.
