Default Can I run steel wheels with hoosiers on autox track?

Would there be any problem with this? I seem to only be able to find in my price range 15x6 steel wheels I know it will look ghetto, but thats not a problem because its just for autocross, plus theyre fairly cheap. Thanks

Heh, well are they going to be very heavy or not strong or any other problems? Or will they just be like any other wheel? Pardon my ignorance here

Steel wheels are not as strong as alloys, in fact they're sorta flexible...that's why the hubcaps always fly off when you handle really hard. As a result, you get less steering feel...also, they're heavier than alloys, which kinda sucks...but they are undeniably cheap. For stock class, they'll work, but with super-sticky hoosiers, it's gonna be an intersting combo...

Are the hoosiers slicks? I think you need a rollbar if you're running slicks. I guess the rules vary though.

I'd stay away from tem. Like others have said already they'll flex more and weigh more. Either get a set of Mazda Millenia wheels or buy a nice set of aftermarkets for the street and use the stock wheels for racing.

Where can you buy steel wheels...?
And what is the average going price for them?
I want them too....

You know how Honda puts on those steel wheels with the "H" in the middle?
Anything like that for Acura?

tirerack sells them in their winter section...they're like 30 bucks a piece. as for rollbars being required on race compound tires, not at any autocross i've ever heard of...i think you're thinking about the drag strip.
