Default Zc motor problems...

Okay this is the problem.
whenever I start the car, i first have to let it crank for a while, then turn the ign. off and do it again. i do this about 3-4 times until the car starts, but then it starts to bog until the motor heats up a lil'.

this only happens when it's cold... for example thur. was in the 50's and it was a pain in the a$$ to start , but yesterday the day was in the 70's and the car started with WAY LESS hesitations... only cranked it ones, then did it again and no bogging...

I'm only throwing a TDC code... now what could it be???

I'm thinking the dizzy's going bad, maybe a ground or something... Now how many grounds is this motor supposed to have. 1 for the valve cover. 1 for the tranny/clutch... what else??? And finally what dizzy to buy again?

Fix Your timing (TDC) and see if it starts better. Im guessing the problem is more due to that than anything else. I had the same problem with mine (really ruff starts in the cold) until I fixed the timing. It was one tooth off.
Of course I never had to crank mine over a bunch of times. Fix the timing and see what happens. Then I would start checking all the stupid stuff first. Plugs, wires, ect ect. Then if that dosnt do it, then I would do the distributor. I belive its 88 teg, but check http://www.thezcr.com, they have the parts list there Im pretty sure.

my ecu is throwing a TDC code too. i replaced the distributor and the crank angle sensor. no luck.....i have checked my distributor wires a hundred times they are right. when i rebuilt my engine i noticed that the cam gears didn't quite line up but i took it to a honda shop and they told me everything was fine. my car idles irradically and sometimes cuts off. so i would check other things before you buy a distributor

Mine never threw a code, but did the same thing come to find out the ground wire for the starter wasn't screwed on tight enough.

Last time I checked the starter uses the block as a ground, so I would assume your ground points were shitty correct? Or your positive wire was loose on your starter?

i was getting the same TDC code(s) until I rewired the dizzy to be color to color w/ good conections. How did you run the wires the cam sensor? I have read about people throwing codes until they sautered those connections. Just a thought.

I ran the wires and used "electric tape"... i'll try your recomendation

Now again, how many grounds for the motor... 2 or 3?
and where are they located?

Put your car into the correct time and all your problems will be fixed..tdc of course means top dead center.if you car is not tdc it does not get the coreect spark off at the right time..i know from experience i was one tooth off from when i replaced my timing belt car acted wierd as hell..clamped the belt down with pliers, losened the tensioner ,rotated cam back 1 tooth, reverse process problem solved
