Default Aftermarket header or stock?

I am considering a Type-R swap into my 2nd gen teg and was wondering if you guys think it is worth it to get a header in place of the already sophisticated header the B18C5 comes with?

b18c5 stock header is nothing special. the only oem itr header worth getting is the 98+ JDM ITR 4-1 header with 2.5" collector. anything else is too restrictive to use in my opinion.

Try the Header Tech header, if you don't have lots of $, good bang for the buck. If you have more money and time, get the SMSP or HyTech header.

Stock ITR header isn't very sophisicated.

The best bang for your buck is the DC Sports JDM 4-1 w/2.5" collector. The ceramic one is much cheaper than the polished one. ~275 I believe.

Yea id definitely replace the stock type r header with something that has a 2.5" collector. The stock one is absolutely puny compared to a nice aftermarket header, and there are considerable gains to be had when swaping them.

you should base your decision on your header by deciding what you plan on doing in the future

Well, what I meant was the stock header on the B18C5 is more sophisticated than most stock manifolds. I think the B18C5 I am getting is a JDM one anyway so, I guess I don't have much to worry about in the header department unless I want a couple of extra horses.

i have a 1998 JDM ITR, it has 4-1 JDM headers already....

do you think i should just keep them and spend money elsewhere or replace them with something like DC sports or mugen.?
the reason why i pick those two brands, is because we dont get SMSP or hytech...

lol, the stock USDM header isn't exactly sophisticated. IMO any header w/ a 2.5 inch collector will be better than the stock POS.

Bang for buck, either the OEM 98 spec header or the DC replica. But you will have to take a metal saw to your front crossmember and notch it a bit (for fitment reasons). Its not a huge procedure, but its required for some of the larger header systems available. I can show you some pics from my 92's crossmember if you can't find anything in the archives.

i think toda might be a bit out of my price range.....
i dont think auckland is big enough to have a distrubutor... so i have to import from japan...

the mugen cost $1850 nz dollars
DC sports cost $1100 nz dollars

how much would a toda 4-1 cost anyway? i know they are really good
