Timing belts
Accord 4 cyl. '99 65000 miles.
Normal and severe service indicates a 105000miles change for the timing belt. Well this is what I thought until I read a small article to reduce it to 60000 miles in occasionally in very cold weather (-25 deg F). It can happen to my car.
I also thought that it was very rre that an Honda would break its timing belt early until I saw a Civic '98 62000 with a brokne one!
Just spent 500$ on tires and I would like to postpone this at least a year so the car would have approx 75-80000 miles. Would it be too risky?

They are normally very conservative with that because they know people will go over 60,000. If they said 100,000, most people wont do it until atleast 120,000.
If you beat up on your engine a lot, I would recommend you get it changed soon. Make sure you check the belts often for damage or wear. Remember, this is not something you want to gamble on.
