can i use a CRX FPR w/ a mini-me swap?
i installed the vtec head form a '92 Si on a '91 CRX and i was wondering if the CRX fuel pressure regulator will do. or do i need to get the one from the '92 civic?
I don't see why it wouldn't. If you're worried about fuel pressures then pick up a B&M gauge for your filter. Far as I know the mini-me swap uses the stock fuel rail, therefore it follows it should use the stock regulator.
from what i've read and heard you need to use either a FPR from a 92-92 civic si/ex, or you can use any brand adjustable fpr. by the way do you know if the redline changes>? i'm doing this same swap in my 91 si hatch this month. anything i should look out for? did you have any problems installing the head on the block? i have everything i need including a fields sfc vtec controller.
as far as i know the 91 si hatch has a D16A6 motor, same as 91 si CRX, and its fuel cutoff is 7000. now the 92 si, which uses D16Z6, has a limit of 7200. and considering that if u change the head u basically get the same motor as the 92 si hatch, i'd say the limit will change to 7200. btw, if anyone knows it to be different from what i said, plsease post. as with the swap so far i've had no problems. the head fits perfectly, i used the CRX head gasket cuz it fits as well as the 92 si one. when i was taking out the oil jet from the CRX cylinder block it didnt wanna come out, so what i did was put a small screw in it and then just pull out by the screw head w/ pliers.
yeah but doesn't the ecu control the red line or rev limiter? if the rpms will be the same as the d16 that's in the 92-95 ex/si then the tachs would look different because the fuel cut out would be 200 rpms higher. i donn o i'm blabing and prolly confusing you all more
