Sometimes when i shift from 1st to 2nd, i get a really heavy clunk? IS this normal? any of you guys ever get that? It makes me nervous....bike is a 97 f3

I remember one time i accidently slipped it into neutral then popped it up to second it clunked but it doesnt make that sound all the time when i put it to second normally

 

I have a 1995 f3....mine did that the other day....I am now wondering too....is it normal?

 

mine 99 f4 does that too. now u got me worrying.

 

my f2 does it and my friends f4i does it to, its when you come from nuetral into second. Why let it worry you, its definatly normal.

 

Yeah i guess its mostly when i miss second , and then try to go from neutral to second.... But when that happens, i try to slow down to a stop, and shift into second to prevent "the clunk". I guess i just gotta learn how to ride

 

Its normal going from 1st to 2nd.

 

Not only is 1st->2nd a big throw, you have to go through neutral. Normal, a-ok. Just give it a firm, positive shift.

 

i just got a 2003 gixxer 600 and when i go from neutral to second it does it rarely. i think its normal
