Default Plz help me!!!

Hey everyone. iam new here and i have a couple of questions:

1. Is it possible to turbocharge a 2003 ITR
2. How much boost could i run safely
3. What internals could i change to raise the bosst safely
4. What does JDM stand for and what is it

Also i thought i might tell you i live in australia, and i think the comp. ratio is different on our ITR.
Cheers

1. Yes, you can turbocharge anything you want. I'm guessing in Aust. they still call them ITR's? Over here on this side of the ocean, they call them RSX Type S
2. I'm not sure? Greddy has a bolt on turbo kit, not sure if its released yet.
3. Best bet would be to upgrade the connecting rods and forged low compression pistons.
4. JDM-Japanese Domestic Market- Parts that are only available in Japan.

actually the rsx type s and the ITR are two totally different cars. The body style may be similar, but the ITR is pulling mid to low 14's stock i believe.

If the ITR back down under is pulling mid to low 14's then what is the rsx type s doing??? Also this may sound stupid but do you have a rsx type r?? or is the rsx type s your version of the type r... Also does anyone have any links to any websites of turbocharged ITR??? I really want to know how much boost i can get before i buy it. Thanx

RSX Type S pulls 15.0@94.5mph according to SCC tests. Theres no RSX Type R over here. As for how much boost, you might want to check out this site.

1. Yes
2. on a stock motor - probably 0.5 bar of boost "safely" - without retarding the ignition timing a ton. If you are going to modify the motor - you could run up to 1.5 bar (or more!) depending on how much $$$$ you have
3. Forged pistons and rods would help - as well as a fully balanced crank and better head gasket and head bolts
4. Japanese Domestic Market - describes where the car came from and is sold/distributed

For better help with the DC5 and the K-motor, you might want to post more at the Honda Tech relevant forum: RSX DC5/Civic EP3 Forum</TD></TR></TABLE>

just because we're all stuck on our DC2's doesn't mean we should push away international DC5 owners.. I think we should welcome them.. might be an oppertunity for all of us to learn something.. but yeah, the RSX/EP3 forum probably currently has more K series knowledge floating around..
