You have to register 1st, but after you do, click on "articles"
they have some good info in the articles area.
1 of the better articles is telling B series trannys apart.
HTH
Oh yeah, forgot. I have a YS1 and it came with my B17A, and it was from
Canadian GS-R. Almost all USDM Acura Integra's had YS1's.
Just the ratios are dfferent, LS, RS, GS, GS-R
Oh yeah, # 2 try searching harder.

I have been on hondaswap and it didnt say how you can tell the difference between the two. I have also tried searching and came up with nothing. Is there a way to tell the two apart?
there are two ways of telling:
1) you must pull the tranny of the donor car to tell if its from an ls or a gsr!
2) the other way, is to crack the tranny open, and count the teeth in the gears to determine if its a ls or gsr tranny.
i think #2 is the only one that will work for you! good luck!

look through where the axel and halfshaft go through the trannny on each side if it has a bar inbetween each side its not a lsd, If u can see str8 through it got one.

Hey man, I can tell you this. I've been searching for some time now, and haven't found anything about being able to tell the tranny's apart from the appearance. People always say "tear it apart, and count the teeth", but never give the details on it.
Good luck.
Good luck.
