Default Question about the Civic CX.

I'm about to buy a 1996 Civic CX hatchback and I had heard somewhere that it only has 3 valves to a chamber. (I'm guessing that the two exhaust valves are merged into one larger exhaust valve.) Can anyone confirm or correct this? Thanks.

No, it is most certainly 16 valves, 4 valves per cylinder.

Correct, ALL 96+ Civic have been 16V. The 12 valve engines were used on G3 Civic and prior.

Yes they did, but the guy had asked about the 12 valve motor too, so I think the other guy was telling him what those came in too.

8 valves = 70hp.
