Cliff notes: **** MY CAR!!!

Man I swear this car is nothing but trouble trouble trouble...

So I blow 4 grand to rebuild the motor cool, put it back in the car and put about 3 thousand miles on it and go to change the oil... its very first virgin oil change.

I post a while back asking if I needed a new alternator, I did the ghetto test and unplugged my **** and the car still ran... cool alternator still good.
I drive my car to my parents house to change the oil, I live in glendale and parents live in fontana ca... nice 50 minute drive on the new 210 freeway.

Why do all of my gauges die, and the car is now running off of the battery!!!
about 20 miles before I get home the car just DIES!!! no power at all.

So I now have to buy a new ****** alternator with my registration money, and change my oil on top of that. Cool

All's said and done.

Why after getting to the shine street meet I drive up to thousand oaks later that night, then on the way home my battery light comes on like my new alternator went dead. WTF HONDA GODS...

I get home its pitch *** black I live in a townhome and I didnt have the garage door opener in my car, the roomies had it. So I do the ghetto test on the alt, b0000-yaka car dies... MY NEW ALTERNATOR COULDNT OF DIED!!!

I drive the car around the town with the battery light on for ***** and giggles hoping its just some stupid electrical problem, and no...
I go to the gas station and pop my hood and see my alternator clean fell off the godamn engine. and is hanging by the belt....

So I borrow my roomates deathmobile, drive all the way out to fontana to grab another alternator bolt off another engine in my garage. my jack, two stands and a 14... totally forgot to grab a ****** 12.

I take my **** back to glendale and im in the townhome garage with my **** on jacks while using my friends deathmobile as a ghetto battery charger while I do my engine work.
then I realize I forget the ****** 12 so I cant get my breakerbar to push the alternator back because of my ****** tower brace...

ARGGGGG!!!

I drive around after doing all this work with the loose *** alternator at the top once again, looking for any gas station possible or some jackass who owns a bmw or nice car smoking ciggarettes or drinking coffee in front of 7-11... and I luck out... so im in the parking lot of 7-11 tightening the alternator while I notice there is fluid all over my radiator hoses...

WTF
It looks like someone just took a cup of radiator fluid and splashed it all over my distributor, so now thats ****** STHUPER I now have a coolant leak and cannot see it for ****.

I drive the car back home and thank the bmw folks for thier tools
BTW **** HONDA FOR NOT INCLUDING TOOLS WITH THIER CAR!!!

and when I pop my hood with the engine running I have a microscopic hole in my upper hose shooting hot *** coolant dead onto my distribbutor.

fantastic, I notice all my hoses are soft as **** and my resivior is *** empty.

 

If you have a swap all I can say is swap woes.

Damn dude. Bad week. Next week you should play the lottery. Your luck has to change soon.

man dont worry, i think it happens to all of us. i know in my case things all went wrong at the same time, so i had to spend more than i thought .look at it this way, as soon as you fix everything that honda will get you thorugh the rest of your life

honda for not giving us some tools hahahha

 

just get a new hose.

You shouldn't go 3k miles on a new engine bro...that's just asking for problems. Think of all the bearing residue, metal shavings, assembly lube, ect just floating around....

That's what I was thinking, kinda risky. After I put my car back together, I changed the oil after 500 to be safe. Sucks about the bad luck you're having though, no matter what, it never goes smoothly

 

In the end it will all work out.

 

my alt died last year. i tried to make it home. cut off everything...including lights ......it wasn't the best night of my life. i came up on an 4-way intersection, red light, 4-5 miles from home. no cars waiting in any lanes whatsoever. gun it into the night. the moon was taking me home, then some concerned off duty rescue squad guy comes flyin up behing me with his brights on. JEEZ, now i can't hardly see a frickin thing....i go on.....

just up the road i hit the last light before i got home. red. traffic. DAMNNIT. i stop. so does the car. the rescue squad guy gets out and starts harassing me. finally he helps me push my car out of the inersection, but then forgot to tell me he called the sheriff's office and in a flash there were two sheriffs, full blue-light special, asking me what i was doing. they were having a problem b/c i had just rec'd my new 11i1i1i1's plates, and they weren't in the system, so i had to step away from the car, and almost get frisked b/c of my alternator quitting on me.

yeah. been there man.

 

dang.. sounds like a hassle.. you sure you still want the ebrake cover? i can hold it for you whenever...

 

lol i didnt even mention the ****** 80 dollars i had to pay cash to tow it home...

money for the e brake cover is sitting in an envelope off to the post office to mail it tommorow.

Right now I am going to give my little hole some ductape lovin! ill get myself some spoon hoses for christmas. I was unaware to change the oil in my freshly rebuilt engine under 2000 miles. Thats a tad bit too **** for me.

I think the break in process I put this engines life cycle is a tad bit easier than when I first got the car and was redlining it with 30 miles on it LOL.

</TD></TR></TABLE> luckily my freind had a jumpbox, and we drove the car home early that morning.

 

its all good my insurance company reimbursed the 80 dollars... but that was a 200 dollar trip for an oil change.

 

I dont know in the US.. but over here it comes with a 10 and 12 and 15 anf 17 and a wheel key and a jack and i think a pliyer.. :-)

I been working my *** off with my current swap, problems everywhere. At least in between the swap I went surfing in Hawaii for a week... Now it's back to swap woes!!!

It happens to everyone, at least your not starving in a 3rd world.

I've been waiting two years for something to happen to my swap.

Knock on wood.

I figure about $2000 in parts will just break within a week of each other, each making me poorer and poorer until I push it off a cliff.

 

Wow. I hope that was just swap woes. I've never had anything like that happen to me in any of my Honda civics. *knocks on wood quickly*
