what the freak. i read different things all over the place.

 

Do you have a helms manual? Check that.

Edit: you need to be more specific. Which gears? Stock or not stock?

 

Both should be UP.

yeah i saw that pic. then my haynes said towards each other.

AEM gears.

 

There are UP marks and theare are other marks that should line up when the UP marks are both up. If you are still having trouble, get a freind to come over and help or tow the car to a shop..., don't risk messing up your engine because of confusion.

There are little notches on the side of the stock gears. Those are supposed to be towards each other and the arrows with the word "up" on them are suppossed to be straight up.

 

I think the timing marks on the AEM gears point up, unless they changed them.
