picked up my 03 ABP type S 2 days ago =)
awesome car..traded in my 02 protege5 for it.
6speed is pretty damn smooth.
i already have condensation in my headlights, what thhhhhhhhe? I'm gonna go attack my dealership today.

Welcome to another ABP.
I test drove a Protege ES a few years ago. Needed more power, I guess that's where the MazdaSpeed comes into play. That was a pretty nice car for the price. If they made enough of the MP3 and sold them at a good price I might've been driving one of those.
When I first got my -S I thought the manual was extra-tight and notchy and only 1500mi into her have I found it to be smoother (but still mega-notchy).. or maybe that's just me learning to drive stick?

this tranny is smooth as silk compared to the 5speed i had in my protege5.
head over to the mazdamp3.com boards..you'll see everyone complains about the unreasonably hard, high rpm 1-2 shift and blown trannies all across...
but yeah.. i love the car!
and around this area anyways, seems like no other Arctic Blue Pearl really..
oh, and my dealership said if i ever have a problem, just come in..theyll give me new headlamps
