The UN-mini-me ?
I swapped a D16Z6 into my civic that was running perfect with PM6 ecu, dizzy, intake manifold, and Si head ( B2 with A6 head ).
Anyway the D16Z6 refuses to work !! All grounds double grounded, tried 2 different P-28 ecus ( using blownhatches obd0 to obd1 conversion harness ), and 2 different obd-1 dizzys.. ANYWAY !!
I was going to put an A6 head on a Z6 block in the future to get lower compression for a turbo, But it looks like I'm going to do it now. Swap the head back to the A6 head, and use my old PM6 and I'll probly leave on the Z6 intake.
Has anyone every tried this ? I call it the "un-mini-me, if a vtec head can be combined with a non-vtec block to make really high compression, then why couldn't a vtec block be combined with a non-vtec head to make low compression ? the Compression calulator says 8.4/1 which I think i perfect for high boost.
Anyway, you guys have any comments ? suggestions ?
It going to suck driving around for a few weeks with like 85hp, but it beats not driving the car at all ( like the past month and a half ). I already have the STD. manifold, T3 volvo/garret turbo, lots of pipes, and Volvo IC for the turbo system.

I'm a little confused by how you worded it (maybee it's just too early in the morning for me) So the Z6 engine is already in the car with an A6 head and Z6 IM on it and it won't start? Does it turn over ok or act seized? If I were you I'd stay with the PM6 ecu. You won't need the P28 because you don't need to engage the Vtec. when you switched ECUs over to OBD1, did you switch the Dizzy and Injectors over too? did you remove the Injector resistor box? these things would need to be done as well.
If you're not getting the answers you're looking for here, I'd sugest posting this on http://dseries.org. I'm sure someone on that site has already tried something similar to this.
