sparking brakes

Default sparking brakes

i raced my 2 friends with a z6 and a firebird and i beat them both, but when i started to break about 100 something, they said that they saw sparks flying behind me, probably from my brakes, would anyone know why? please i dont want to **** my car up any more than it already is

Maybe your brakes are worn down to the little metal sensor. It squeels when you are breaking, it is some brass piece or something so you could have been grinding it hard. Take one of your wheels off and see what the level is on those suckers. If you got gashes in your rotors you know you need brakes....and new or resurfaced rotors. That is my best guess anyways.

does your car have a metal to metal sound when the brakes are applied?? maybe your pads are worned down straight to the back plate and its hitting your rotors
