Default SC61 or SC44 for street H22

basically i want a badass street car, i have seriously been considering the SC61, but i am afraid it will be too laggy for street use, i would rahter make consistan power than make all my power up top, my basic setup is 89mm bore 9:1 H22 (stock bore is 87mm), turbo cams, ported and polished head, GE intake manifold, upgrading valvetrain etc, everything possible, i don't want to have to wait until 5000rpms to make power, i would like to reach full boost by 4000rpms, but still want to make in excess of 500whp, am i reaching too far??

man, if the SC61 hits full spool by 3800 on a LS motor, it'll spool like a damn supercharger on my motor

I would think that would be "start" spooling....the sc61 is a big turbo. It also depends on what exhaust side you get. If you go t4 exhaust..its gonna be alot laggier then a t3.

Its a big motor going with a SC61 with a t3 exhaust is gonna be nice.

Heres some pictures...i love pictures..

SC61 on the left, t3/t04e .48ar 46trim on the right...

got exhuast flow?

hah yea...SC61 with a T4 exhaust flange, same t3/t04e on the right..

SC61 on the left, mitsubishi 14b (stock 1g dsm turbo) on the right...

Im not sure why i pasted these pictures..but they sure are purdy!

You called Precision and asked? They probably have a fair idea what works.

I call one of the first rides in the Lude when it's done.

Art said that a 9:1 LS/vtec with an SC61 was making 19 pounds of boost by 4400 RPM's with an SC61, I think it would be a nice choice for your setup.

I've tuned two cars with sc61's recently and both made great power and weren't laggy at all. Both were gsr motors and made 9psi before 5k. One made 372 at 9psi on pump gas with 10:1 compression and one made 414 at 13psi on pump gas, 9:1. The 9:1 motor also made 482 at 20psi, 114 octane. The 10:1 motor hasn't been tuned with race gas or higher boost yet. I would highly recommend this turbo for anyone looking to make big power with a t3/t4!

is the SC61 like a T3/60-1? What about Garette GT30R VS SC61?

The SC61 uses a GT40 compressor wheel aka GT35R wheel that is in the GT3040.

Also to add to this, this same motor made it on a t04E housing.

The SC61 in the pics posted above by liam821 has the T04s c-housing right? Is it true that housing is a ~$100 option on top of the standard $775 retail for the T04e version?

Yes, Liam posted a T04 Turbine and T04S compressor housing. Precision raised the prices on the T04S compressor housing to $100 more than the T04E(60AR).

what kinda benefits and downfalls does the t04s housing have over the regular t4 housing it comes with standard? also does anyone know how much hp a stock gsr motor can safely handle daily???i'm debating over whether or not to sleeve my motor before it gets shipped to me?or to just shipo it down and turbo it stock, and run like 300-325 on the street daily..whatcha guys think?
