Default type r cams and valve clearances.

I put in some type r cams in my lsvtec. My idle is rough and the car doesn't rev up correctly. Would the clearances being outta spec cause this?

edit: I messed up on the title. This is for the valve lash clearances.

What pistons and headgasket are you using and is the head milled at all? Just putting ITR cams in a stock LS/VTEC would cause clearence issues.
