B16a1 swap to a 92 civic hatch?
how to swap a first generation b16 on a 92 civic hatchbak?can you guys help me out what to look for? what else to get to complete the swap? cable to hydro conv., mounts, axles, ecu, distributor, help!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Motor Mounts
Elimanate knock sensor with chipped ECU
GSR Shift Linkage
Rewire fuel injector to the harness
92 GSR throttle cable
Swap over VSS from your D15 engine
Swap over fuel injectors from your d15 engine
4 wire o2 sensor
MSD Ingition, or a different VTEC distributor to work with obd.
Cable tranny conversion
New radiator hoses
I left out some other stuff.
You would be saving money if you just bought a B16A2 or JDM B16A!
Trust me on this one, I just my 1st gen B16A into a 92 cx, it was a f**king pain. Esp. the fuel wiring crap. If you still do it, let me know. I can write you a guide or something.

im doing the swap, i have no choice i got the engine already, if you can email me the guidelines on i8kredlinei@aol.com, i really appreciate it thanks....
I’ll just post the problems and guidelines here so other can put their input in as well.
You must have aftermarket motor mounts. Left and right both need to be the conversion from EF to EG. The rear mount bracket that goes to the firewall has to be from an Integra – Someone correct me on the year. I used my stock EG mount with the Integra bracket. The Hasport I had was broken. However the stock left and right in no way fit.
You can fabricate the stock throttle cable, but I don’t recommend it since you don’t want to drill holes into your intake manifold. Instead, order a 92 GSR throttle cable, fits perfect.
You must have a 94+ GSR shift linkage. Don’t forget to get the washer w/ it. I forgot mine and the shift linkage came off when I was driving.
The stock EG ECU will work, however no VTEC. I would recommend a chipped P28 since it does not have a knock sensor. You won’t be able to fit the knock sensor and the sensor on the intake manifold unless you extend the wires.
You will need a four wire o2 sensor. The stock EG sensor only had one wire. Match white – white, orange/black – black, green/black – green, red/black – black. You will understand once you strip the wires and get the four wire o2.
Use search here to locate the B16A vacuum diagram.
You have to swap the VSS on your tranny from your EG to the new B16A.
Swap your stock EG fuel injectors, unless you have a resistor box I don’t think the stock B16A injectors will work.
Take pictures of the wiring before you disconnect the stock engine. It will help later. If you get stuck just reply here and I will help in anyway possible.

A cable --> hydro conversion kit for the clutch, theres a homemade diagram somewhere on the web, but HASport sells them for like $200.
On the throttle cable, an extension can be made with a small piece of metal or aluminum, drill two holes to mount on existing cable bracket, and extend over a couple inches until it fits firm on throttle body.
