Default is it possible to get a brand new B18C5 motor?

nah, one of my friends said he just got two whole new USDM Type-R motors to sell,
and they are in the original box and sealed.

Since he said they are brand new, 0 mile motor, that really encourage me to swap my engine....(i own a 99' GS)
but the Integra Type-R is discontinued, right?
so it's impossible to get the brand new type-r engine from Japan, am i correct?

i just dont want to be fooled by him...

Honda no longer sells complete longblocks. The last one was purchased and parts split up among a few people.

It does not sound like your "friend" is really a friend at all.

By law a producer is to continue to make parts available for a vehicle 10 yrs after it is discontinued...this info is right from PPG certification. I'd call Acura to verify

And?

Acura sells every part individually.

If you wanted to piece together a new longblock you could, you just could not buy it all at once.

The only thing that is discontinued is the complete longblock assembly.

Reid is right. You can piece it together. I almost bought an entire new motor, but Len informed me that it wasn't possible unless it was pieced together, so I bought a new shortblock instead

Alright guys, I called a Acura dealership and the parts guy said they never sold complete engines (longblock). The only sell shortblocks. The shortblock goes for $2,858 new and the head goes for $1,862 new. Hope this helps out a little bit.

Honda even sold what could be called a crate B18C5. It included everything except for axles and an ECU. It even included an engine harness. It was a complete drop in.

Mike K and Mike M got one a while back and split it up. That was the last one available from Honda and that was a couple of years ago...if not longer.

This is a fact. Who has the crate engine part number to verify?

I've been looking, but I can't find it.

Maybe someone who collects part numbers has it.
