Timing belt change -> Screeching belt sound while accelerating
Just had my timing belt changed a few hundred miles ago. There's a sound of 'squeeling' when accelerating between 2500-3500 rpms, it's not that loud, but annoying and kind of embarassing.
Should this noise go away with a few hundred more miles or should I worry about it now? The timing belt was intalled by Acura so I wouldn't **** anything up.. go figure.
Is this normal?

Definitely check the tension. I had the same problem a while back...except this was with the A/C belt. If it's one of the accessory belts, it'll be a helluva lot easier than if you had to correct the timing belt.
Worry about it now.

Any suggestions on determining which belt is making the noise?
I guess the only way is to have somebody rev it and listen carefully..

Whichever has the most play. I believe when checking, you press down on the center of the belt and there should be .5" deflection. You might want to doublecheck for the exact measurement, but that is what I have always used. Also try some Honda Silicon Spray, it'll take the squeal outta your belts - also make sure they're not worn. Cheers.

Did you have the water pump replaced at the same time?
When the water pump started to go it can make intermittent chirping / buzzing noise, I assume the bearing could potentially make "screehing" noise too.
If you can't pin point the location, a mechnic's stephoscope may help to locate it.

I wouldnt think it would be the timing belt because of the fact that it is a toothed belt that runs on toothed pulleys, but thats just my thinking. So i would rev it and listen to your belts. And also check the wear and tension on all your belts since an old belt , too tight belt or too loose belt can also cause squeals.. My .02..

The water pump was replaced with the belt... but, Acura did the maintenence so if they fucked up they should be able to fix it for free.
Too bad they probably won't.

its most likley one of the accessory belts. I think the screeching happens when the crank pulley moves and cant stay in sync with the belt because it is too loose or too tight. Chech the belt tension, its easy enough to do.
sounds like an accessory belt. My alternator belt makes soem VERY loud noises when it gets too loose. As they said just push on the belts, whichever is the loosest is the culprit
