Need your opinions on the 03' Suzuki GSX1300R "HAYABUSA"
I was looking at the Hayabusa....
How well does that bike perform compared to 600's sportbikes?
Speedwise? Handlingwise?
Sorry for the dumb question, but I dont see to many people talking about it.....
seems like the 600cc sportbikes are more popular

I suggest looking at a coffin as well. If you are looking at a busa and a 600, the only assumption I can think of is that you have no experiance what so ever or very limited. You want something to impress people. No one is impressed with a busa anymore just a heads up. Get something you can learn to ride on or finance your funeral and burial plot if you get the busa.
Oh and its heavy, doesnt really turn that well compared to other bikes that you are looking at.

Actually I've seen dynos of the RR putting down ~103-105.
The busa is ugly anyhow, top speed is one of the kings but the gixxer1 will take it out on a 1/4 mile. Both are just insanely fast and definately not for a beginner.

I've never seen ANY stock Busa put down more than 155rw stock. Most are in the 150rw range. You'll never, NEVER see a GSXR1000 out ET or MPH a Busa at the track. Magazines are great for hype... and that's about it. Ther semi-professional 140lb riders really are't representative of the real world...
Besides, the ZX-12R creams both the zooks anyway
If you have to ask... you probably don't need to get an RR or a Busa.

that's a pretty ignorant comment. why would anyone buy an R1 for stunting? that's not what it's made for. I love my R1 and would much rather take a turn than bring the front wheel up. am I a squid?

You're reading too far into the comment
R1s and GSXR1000s are king squid bikes because those are the bikes squids want the most. BECAUSE the front wheels come up so easy. Light, lots of power.
In no way are squids the ONLY ones who have them, or even want them.
I will say, I know a few R1 riders who think they got the fastest thing on the road, yet bitch up when asked if they want to "play"
If I wanted a badass track bike, it'd def be an R1. Around here, there are like 4 turns, so I got a cruise missile, not a crotch rocket

whats a squid?
Anyhow, I was impressed with the BUSA from european motorcycle video that i saw. They tested it along side a ZX12 R and went from country to country on the highways, backroads etc...doing top speed runs, canyon carving etc.
In biker Boyz, Lawrence fishburne was riding a BUSA so thought it was a cool bike.

You were doing so good until that comment. If you don't have any previous experience, maaaaaaaaybe give it some time on something a little more tame, otherwise you might hurt yourself pretty easily.

I could not agree more. If you havnt ridden before you should be looking at something cheap, so it dosnt cost as much to fix when you wreck it, and a lot smaller displacement.
as far as HP the new 600s make 100 hp but you have to be at 14,000 rpm, My bike makes more hp at 5,000 then they do period. I dont want to have to ring the **** out of a bike all the time just to keep up when riding it. They are grat little bike but not for eveyone. ever ride a 500+ mile day on a 600cc bike ( exspecilly hondas new 600RR) thier set sucks.

Before I bought this bike, the bikes I were seriously considering were the TL, 1000 and a busa. The TL is worth it just for the sound alone, but I wanted something a lil faster. The 1000 wouldn't agree with my wife who likes to ride with me. The Busa, just a porky for my tastes. My 12 seemed to be the perfect blend of the best qualities of the 1000 and the Busa. Anyway, tell me ya got Yoshis

yea man just because a magazine says a bike is dope doesnt mean u wont be dead a mile from the dealership. if u r just learning u dont need anything more than a 600. and that 600 doesnt need to be a RR either. the 600s will teach u to be smooth with the power. how to handle the bike and they are far more forgiving when u make a mistake. a 1300 or anything over 1000 will buck your *** off so fast. dont be dumb and buy a big bike off the bat. be safe and keep yourself off the pavement

I look at it like this.....if someoen wants to stunt with no gear...that is their choice.....i myself would never even get on a bike without a helmet....that is my choice...but i wouldnt get mad or even be like why is he not wearing gear when he does that.
i dont know guess I just need to learn to not let someones opinion bother me.........fter reading your post a couple more times....you never said STUNTING is for squids...you just said stunting without gear is dumb....and you have your right to say that....so i will just keep to myself and let it go

EDIT: I went with the D&D carbon fiber.....at the time it was all the money I had and i wanted an exhaust that day........it will have YOSH when i get it out of the paint shop next week
