mini-me swap problems need help!!
i need some help!!!!! any thoughts or ideas are welcome. i put a y8 head on a d15z1(vx) block and hooked it up, timed it and it runs good at idle but when u hit the gas it bogs down and wont rev up.all my sensors are hooked up and there is no check engine light. if u need more info just ask....
what concept are you not understanding? by putting the y8 head on my block it will raise the compression and give me a lot more power.
it was the block in my car..... no specific reason i got the head, manifold, distributor and vlave cover for 50 bucks so i figured why not
do a compression test on each cylinders and give us the numbers.
i assume your using the correct ecu, p28.
check your timing too.
oh and make sure you didnt reverse your tps and map sensor plugs.
cuz if they harnesses/plug is in the wrong sensor that might explain your symptom.

yes im using a p28 ecu and my dad did a compression test and said they were fine i dont remember the numbers i can get them tomorrow tho.the car is timed , but tomorrow im gonna try switching the map and tps sensors like you said. but if i had them switched up wouldnt i throw a code?

i attempted the same swap it simply doesnt work for **** the rods are too weak and you will just end up breaking one also the p28 ecu does not work for the y8 only for the z6, also have to think y8 is a obd2 unlike your vx i have th same piece of **** vx too but im swapping a fully built turbo z6 into get a new motor and definately a dif tranny

he could use the head so long everything is wired right.......
sensor wise he could of used a z6 manifold.
distributor that can easily rewired to obd1.

Lol.... i was about to say that. I had the same problem with my mini me. Once I hooked up a scanner to test the voltage I realized the plugs were switched.
