Difference between PPG paint and Dupont paint?
I went to body shop today and he said that they use Dupont paint.
I asked is PPG better? he said no, it just costs a little bit more, and if i want, i can get PPG paint for a little more money.

I use Dupont in the body shop I work at, its all in what you like, I just have always worked with Dupont but I hear PPG is just the same. The big difference I believe is just in primers... hopefully that will help alittle
you better make sure to use the oil based paint, which are being used by Japanese and German. not to mention that the US uses the water based paint, i don't know exact reason but i guess it's cheaper than oil based paint.
when comparing my Amerian built honda(water based paint) to my mom's Japanese built honda(oil based honda), the color is different.
the oil based paint gives deeper paint color.
$.02

I just finished spraying my car with PPG and I had problems with using sealer and high build primer. It would react around the edges where I used the sealer and primer, and both were PPG products. I ended up doing the whole car in sealer first, then color over that.
I'd use dupont next time.
