Out of curiousity what would 400whp do in a crx 88hf, 1/4mi wise? vs 200whp all motor. thanx

 

depends on if you could hook it and drive but I would think you would decimate the all motor car in a 1/4 mile... autox would be a bit more challenging.

BTW I know nothing about the crx really so not sure about a 1/4 time.

 

dude it depends on a lot more than just your engine you must also take into concideration suspention/tires/driver

i had 190 allmotor whp in a 88 hf crx... on 22x8x13" slicks i ran 12.50@109, two years ago.

Crazychickenhead what motor set-up? And I'm not a highschool kid

 

I am at about 300 WHP , and it is whell spin 1st 2nd and 3rd with 205 T1S tires.
I get beaten by mini vans untill about 30 mph , But it will win a burn out contest, But it is fun as hell.

 

I have a CRX Si stock. I have 195/60/14 Goodyear tires, and even with the stock motor, I do a burn out early all the way through 1st gear. You will have some mad burnouts. If you want to effectively use 400 whp, then you are going to have to do some very specific adjustments to your suspension, and get some huge drag slicks to try to get some sufficient traction. A buddy of mine has an all motor B20/Vtec and it burns out all day long. Before you start thinking about 400 hp, start thinking about traction. I'm getting 215 width tires for my car, and it will only have about 200 hp. More traction means quicker launch.
