Turn Signal Relay
Can anyone tell me how to test a turn signal relay to see if it is operating right
Finally figured it out, someone kick me,
and I hope this can help someone else.If your turn signals don't work or work intermittently check your battery before you start tearing everything apart,as it turns out my battery only was reading between 11.8 and 11.9 volts so I put in a new one and now everything is fine, and by the way the turn signals were the only symptom all other lights and starting were okModified by edavis1054 at 9:00 PM 6/11/2003
your best bet is to go to the dealer and talk to one of the mechanics , see if they can get one of the shop manuals out to see how to test the relay properly
determine if it runs on 12v or 5v. (should say on casing)
take two jumper wires and provide DC power and ground.
good relay will start clicking at normal speed.
if relay is fast, it may be a 5v relay hooked up to 12v or bad
slow or no clicking denotes bad relay. Try reversing polarity.
Be sure you're hooked up to the control terminals and not the signal power terminals.
