Did a search, didn't really answer my question. Just installed a skunk2 short shifter and tried to install ITR shift **** but no-go. Checked the threads with my tap and die set and they have the same pitch except the skunk2 has a slightly larger diameter than the stock shifter.

Question is: Do I re-thread the shifter or the ****? I'd like to keep the **** intact so is it safe to re-thread the skunk2 shifter? Thanks in advance.

 

yeah re-thread the shifter. if you re-thread the ****, you might not be able to use it on another shifter again.
