Default OT: Anyone have an ITR stolen in the Tri-state area recently?

A friend of mine who is a credible guy was at the local " hang out" (poughkeepsie, ny) this past weekend.

He went on to tell me of someone who had a black 5th gen hatch a b18c5, which the guy bragged was stolen! I guess he also had a drag turbo kit on it as well which he said was also stolen. Some of the theives friends said they went into NYC, the Bronx specifically, and picked up the motor, tranny and turbo kit for $4000...

My friend didnt think to get his plates, but we are working on it....

We're going to get this guy arrested if its the last thing we do.

Check out some shops near Co-op City by the Conner Street Exit on I-95 Northbound. I found three ITR shells in that area. Yes, I said, three.

I have no evidence to call the police or figure out who, so I just didn't pursue it. I did call the police once, to try and fingerprint one of the shells, they just blew me off.

If they are just shells, snap pics of their vins or write them down. Someone on here would be able to run them through carfax and give you something to hand to the police to get them interested.

I hope you do catch him and get him arrested. Chances are he's a punk who will turn on the shop that sold him the stuff as soon as the cops get a hold of him. to taking a proactive stance.

ITR shell for $5k is too much.

while the location screams hot, it's probably legit.

Heh, I once meet a kid who was bragging about having a stolen motor is car... and he did!!! It was my motor, out of my GS-R 100000% sure of that.

I couldn't prove anything because he restamped the number on the block w/ a different one... I checked!!!

Now the kid is still around and has a reputaion for being legit, great buyer and seller and being all anti-theft and chit.
Loser.

Holy crap Kamil!! You're a better man than me.. I don't know how I'd react to that.. I'd go crazy... ****** POS buying stolen parts.. IMO the person buying the stolen parts is just as bad as the POS thief who stole them..
