Noises at high rpm's?
Lately my car has been making a popping/clicking noise in high (4k and up) rpm's and it usually does it over 70. It doesn't happen every time and it's not a constant or continuous noise. More often than not it's just a "pop pop pop" then it stops. It also does it (usually every time) when I get on it in the lower gears, but recently it has started doing it just not as loud when I let off the gas. I've changed the oil and started putting higher octane gas in it (91 instead of 87), even done a can of b-12 in the gas. It stopped doing it for about 5 days when it was cool outside, but started again when the temperature got hot. I have a white 5spd, 94 si non v. Has anyone else had/have this problem or know what it might be?
After you turn off your car and it starts to cool, you hear the metal making that popping noise sometime (like as it cools), that's almost what it sounds like but it only does it when I'm driving. It doesn't do it if I'm in neutral and rev'ing either. Anyone have any ideas?

It sounds like it' comming more from under the car than the engine bay. My civic use to knock pretty bad and I had the valves adjusted on it, the noise for it was a lot different tho. You suggest I go get it done on the lude too then?

Missed this paragraph. You know what it could be coming from? The noise might be coming from a loose heatshield under the car. The most likely source would be the heatshield for your catalyst converter. I had those problems on 2 Hondas in my family: a Civic and an Accord and both are 95.

ya know something, I'm going to check that out here in a few when I go out to work on her. before all of this started I had a wal mart sack melt it self to my heatshield. I can't get a floor jack uner my car and didn't feel like busting out the honda one so we were just scraping it off with screwdrivers and stuff. We might have bent it or knocked it loose. thanks for the idea, I'll let ya know tonight
