I don't know the difference however I would like to get this thread restarted because I presently have a JDM H22 motor in a civic hatch and I am looking into going with the Types S cams.

I heard that the JDM H22 and the USDM H22 cams are exactly the same. Can anyone comfirm this???

How can you distinguish the H22 Type S camshafts from the regaular H22 camshafts without dyno testing? It there any marking or coding on the camshaft itself which would distinguish itself from the other without measuring lobe and profiles?

You advuse would be appreciated .

Ha ha ha ha...lol!!! Wow...now moving forward for anyone who needed answers and searched the threads and found nothing. By the way you can see this is an old thread oh wise one!

I was informed buy searching via the web and stumbled onto http://www.preludeonline.com/s...85279. In the thread on this board it indicates that to identify type S cams there is J and K on intake cam, and J and W on exhaust cam. Also noted that type-s cams also have a blue tint on the lobes.

they dont have a part number on the type s and the only way you can tell if it is the type s is by it's vtec lobe it's bigger with a little lip on the end of it.. if you compare it to the jdm and us you can really tell the differents.. the reason I know is because I bought a pair from hmotorsonline and compare it to my jdm h22a cams, right away the lobes were bigger and vtec was bigger and my jdm cams .. on a side note I'm selling my Type S cams too if anybody is interesed, hit me up at importaltima98@yahoo.com

Hey thanks...anytime. As far as a turbo set up I'm not sure what would be the best preference for your setup. I am an all-motor guy when it comes to the H22 motor. Try to post in the turbo forums or see if this link on "The official H22 Camshaft Thread." Heres the link...https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=939641

Good Luck.

When I was speaking with the reps @ Hmotorsonline...he indicated that the Type S cams had Part# P5P on them. Not sure if this helps.

Good Luck.
