Which 03 600cc?
Its a tossup between the R6 and the 600RR. Being a current owner of the f4i and have ridden the '03 R6 through the twistes, i would recommend the R6 over the f4i - its just a better bike in terms of handling and power.

And getting it's *** kicked. Don't get me wrong...it's a great bike, but it's still getting beat by the Yamaha's. Still close and can go either way, but everyone figured it would walk away with it.
The RR need to go on a diet. 30 lbs more than the R6.

Stop being a mag racer. Ive riden both of the bikes back to back. The 600RR is superior or goes match to match in every catagory except one. And in the catagory the Honda dominates
Handling is much better on the Honda. The extra weight helps keep the bike stable and Honda did their homework. Ive ridden Duhhammels 600RR and other than some revalved shocks, the geometry on the race prepped RR and the one you buy at the shop is almost identical.
Motor is equal with the Honda being the FASTEST 600 ever tested. It has the highest top speed of any 600 ever built. And its a better motor overall. YOu can do wheelies and endos all day and night and you dont have to worry about it. The Yammy has a nasty habit of drying up in a wheelie postion.
Fit and finish. No one and I mean NO ONE does it like Honda. This is the catagory that they have built their reputation on.
Style. No contest. Simple and clean and super trick with the undertail exhaust. Honda wins again.
Go actually ride the bikes before you say that the honda needs to lose weight. The extra weight is a non issue. And it has walked away with almost every rag giving is the number one spot. Please stop basing your comparison on numbers. Thats NOT what makes a bike. You sound like every other yahoo idiot who walks in my shop and needs an R1.

As you can see by my Sig... I have had a R6 since 99. So I'm not jumping on some bandwagon because Yamaha is winning (for once). And as I stated in my past post... the honda is a great bike. Not to mention that the season just started.
You should have read the last part of my post before passing judgement. Why didn't you jump all of over the honda guy for stating that the honda was "kicking *** at the track". Or was that becuase his OPINION matched yours?
I could care less what or who you've ridden! I was just giving the team I going for this year some props for doing good so far and holding off everyone else.
I love my R6's and like them when they were losing. But now that they are winning (so far), I enjoy bikes even more.
I don't need to ride both bikes, I want to ride the honda, but 3 things are keeping me...
1. I have had good luck with Yamaha and I love the bike.
2. Don't have access since none of my friends have one, and...
3. I might like the Honda more. (because it was a choice between 600RR and R6).
I just went with what I liked. Just like everyone else!
Don't bitch at people because they have an opinion, or for that matter facts the actual standings of AMA Super Sport. I didn't lose those races for Honda, nor did I win those races for Yamaha.

Again you fail to make a point. My opinion is more valid than yours because I have ridden both bikes. Bike to back. Give them all the props you want. The R6 that is being raced is so far from a production model geometry wise its ridiculous. The RR is very similar to what you buy in the shop. So go ahead and give all the props you want. I didnt see you give any props anywhere. I see you giving backhanded compliments to a bike you have never ridden before.

Im not bitching at you for the standings of the AMA. In fact I dont even know why you brought that up! It tells me that the only good thing about the R6 is that it is winning in the AMA. And I wasnt talking about the AMA. You have to bring it up for some unknown reason.
Im bitching at you because you havent ridden the RR yet you tell people its a great bike but the R6 is better. And that the RR needs to lose weight. How do you know this? How do you know the R6 is better? Because you like it? Thats why I accuse you of being a magazine racer because you are. You are saying the exact same thing they are and you have never ridden it. So stop telling me how great the R6 is. Ive ridden the R6. I know its a great bike. I also know the RR is that much better because Ive ridden it. I know what goes into the R6 race bike and the RR race bike. I had pit passes at Daytona. I saw the suspension geomtry of both of them. By the way which bike won on its first outing? Oh right... The RR...
As for the standings AMA Supersport is the beginingr my friend. Honda's best rider moved onto bigger and better races and they dont have a capable rider right now so Yamaha gets the crumbs. Miguel is getting old and Nicky is on to bigger and better things. You still want to talk racing? Who won Supercross? Oh yea Honda and RC... Who is going to win outdoors? RC of course. Dont let the fact that Honda pushes its riders to bigger and better things fool you.
Why would I have to ride a RR to say it's great. Honda has always produced great motorcycles. The 600's that honda has put out since 87 have always been great. I owned an 89, and 92 600, then a 94 900. But then again since you know me personally you know these things. If I didn't like honda's at all, would you think I'd actally post anything here. The R6 has it's own websites also.
And once again... I could give a **** who you are or what you have or can get. And riding the bike isn't going to change my mind as far as loving my R6. (I did not rule out the 600RR). I just went by the things that I currently know about it. And there were things that I didn't like... the feel when I sat on one, I wasn't really into the underseat exhaust. I know riding is a different story, but I was more comfortable on the R6.
and if I really had to convince myself that much. I kept an open mind... why didn't I just buy a 636? It is a great bike. But wait...I can't say that because I haven't ridden one yet. Well I haven't but, when I talk to people who have them, they love it. Just like the honda guys... I haven't ridden one, but the poeple who have them love it.
I don't care about the race track. Yes I would like to do a couple of track days, but the biggest feedback that a person gets is how it performs at the races and by what people say who ride them everyday on the street in the real world say about it.
That was my whole point being. If you...the god of sportbikes and holder of the almighty pit pass say that something is good, then I had better just take your word for it.
Oh yeah and by the way... about the weight thing and how it's displaced for stability. Yes I understand that, but... Not everyone was a physics major in school, nor would the average person give 2 *****.
Oh yeah I don't read magazines (and I know you weren't meaning that as a direct remark), but like I said, I check to see who won the races, and keep asking as many people as I can to see what they think about all 4 bikes made this year, and yes I would like to ride a honda, even the 636. But I don't make it a point. I like my bike for now. We'll see what happens.

i havent ridden any of the new 03's but i am betting on the honda. honda just does their homework. no matter what the sport is. honda is and always will be the most tested and perfected machines around.
Hey 600rr jerkoff. Heres something for you, my buddy, who mind you is a ama pro, has an 03 r6. Two bros slip on and a steering stabilizer, and hes on d208rr's. Suspension is warmed over, but nothing to exciting. He races 600 supersport. He said there are not any 600rr's that are remotely stock on the track, and during track days the 600rr isnt real competitive. As far as honda and rc. You forgot to mention rc rose on kx's, and pretty damn well. Throw him on a moped and he will be competitive.

Your made up buddy must be some kind of super cool guy to get into the Honda pit... Especially riding a Yamaha with a slip on, steering stabilizer and 208s... Last time I checked I was rolling GSXR750s at VIR the other weekend on my 600rr... Hm yea its not really THAT competative at track days. It only rolls a bike with an extra 150ccs of displacment.

Actually his dominance came across on the Honda, not the KX. Remember his first year in the 250 class? Probably not. He didnt do too well. And how many races did he win in a row the other year? On which bike? Ill give you a hint. It was in the 20s and it wasnt a green bike...
Now go play with your imaginary AMA friend who rides an R6 with a 2 bros slip on, steering stabilizer and 208s...

Shaggy!! what are you thinking? hahah You have not even rode a street bike yet!! If I were you the most I would do is buy a used 2001 model. DO NOT!! go out and spend 8000-9000 on a brand new bike. You havent even riden a dirtbike!! haha I opt for a used f4i maybe. Its a great bike and you can find them for about 5500-6500 used. I learned on Mikes f4i and it was a great learning experience. Just a word to the wise though, dont learn on a brand new bike!! Laying it down isnt fun, I know from expereince... Mikes bike and 2800 dollars in repairs later told me so!! haha

Damn Bdiddy, you sure do love those honda's, lol
anyway, I got the Yamaha because it was a little cheaper and I just love the look of it... Im not hardcore into bikes, just like to ride it a lot and girls love it. Both brands are pretty reputable, and if I could afford a Honda at the time and found one for a good price, I probally would have got that. Its all about persoanal preference.

Here is the real-life reason that the CBR is a better bike.
It is easier for a non-professional rider to ride. Most bikes that are bought for street use never touch 3/4 of their over-all potential. BDiddy seems to know his **** and I am ure he can back me on this. I have been ridding bikes since I was 5. That's 22 years. I am by no means a professional, and I never have claimed to be. But when you are talking about the "best" bike, you have to take that into context. Sure the R6 might be lighter and have better power to weight ratios, but does it matter to the average rider? No. Because they are never going to get the bike a level that it is going to matter.
A great example of this is acceleration times. The magazines have the GSXR1000 hitting the 1/4 in the 9 second or low 10 second range. Put the average owner of a GSXR1000 on the track and watch him turn 12's all day long. The R6 might lap Willow Springs .7 seconds faster than the 600RR, but put an average rider on the track and watch those times rise by about 10 seconds, and even better, watch the average rider turn identicle times on every bike they try. This is because the population are not professional riders. What matters is what bike is easiest to ride in the 75%-90% range. That is the normal area that a normal every-day rider can hit and feel comfortable that they are not going to stack their bike's up in a heap. It is widely accepted that Honda dominates that category and have for the last 20 years. The 600RR is no different. Honda knows exactly what it is doing. 600RR all the way.
