I got my rims today, and when i was installing them i put the rear ones on, but when i got to the front, one of the lugs was not budging not matter what, the impact drill would not work and a socket would not work. I am afraid i will break the stud so i decided against messing with it until I get some studs from the dealer, beucase this is my daily driver. So as of now i am rockin some 16 in enkei's in the rear and some 14 in. hub cups in the front . Is there an easy way to get that lug off rather than breaking the stud? anything would help thanks.

 

try heating it up . that should get it

 

But wont i run the risk of possibly catchin the brake fluid with a torch and blowing something up?

 

If you heat the studs up i dont think that there is a risk with the brake fluid....just keep the flame away from the lines. Also when my friend bought his 91 crx there were some little *** 13 inch custom wheels on it and it took both of us to get those things off. The lugs were insane tight but once they were off there was no damage of the nut or the threads on the stud. I hope this helps....good luck man

 

I had a lug that wouldn'd come off even with 2 different impact guns till a guy uses a gorilla bar on a wrench and it came off. Basicly it's a 5 foot bar to give you a huge amount of leverage on the nut. Don't jerk the bar cause that will snap your stud bolt just apply smooth and firm pressure and it should come off. Try a long (3' to 5') hollow metal tube on the handle of a torque wrench to see if that helps.

Afterwards put some bolt anti-seize lube on each wheel stud bolt. It won't allow the lugnuts to come loose while driving so your still 100% safe but it will keep the rusty threads from causing the problem your having right now from happening again.

 

Ill give you $50 if you can take it off without breaking something. Go ahead and save some grief and break it off with an impact gun, or maybe a breaker bar. You are going to have to replace that stud and lug.
