Default '86 crx ecu

My '86 CRX kept flashing PGM-FI lights at the same place everyday on my way to work. Acall to Honda Tech in Seattle begat the question "is your car black?"Whoa, dude, how did you know that? He said almost all of the black '86 CRX's overheat their ecu's and that is probably what's happening. I didn't want to then nor do I want to now afford the $600 for a new one...so..can anyone turn me on to a company that can rebuild mine for less? Any help is welcome as I really love the little car and would like to see it back on the road after 4 years. By the way, my wife is Montana State Champion in Street prepared '90 and'91 in the car. Thanks

Wow, $600 for an ECU? Thats rediculous! Go to http://www.redpepperracing.com, they have an excellent message board for 1st Generation CRXs like yours. Post something up in Classifieds, plenty of people on that board have junk cars. Good luck.
