Default JDM H22a

What octane does a JDM H22a require? I am hoping it is 93 or below, cuz I would really like to put this engine in my Del Sol.

I would imagine more like 91 and up. Not 93 and below because that would include 87 octane and i dont think that would be good.

all jdms are built for higher octane because of the higher compression. octane booster works fine too. 91-93 + octane booster =

91+ would work fine. its not that high compression (10.6:1)

Yeah I was thinking that 91 should be sufficient simply because the ITR, Celica GT-S, etc. have much higher compression ratios and can run on 93.

umt he ITRs compression isnt that much higher its only 11.0 to 1 which is like .4 tenths...and high compression is like anything over 12 to 1, thats where feul octane becomes a critical factor, in a stock motor any good gas 91- and up will work fine...ive run 93 everytime in mine..peace

Until you hit the GDI engines (Gas Direct Injection). Those things run a 40:1 at points. Very sick. Also get more HP than Port Fuel Injection. Oh and you can run something like a 12.5:1 on pump w/o a problem.. with gas with less sulfer (so the US is out on the 12.5:1 compression but can still pull the 40:1 A/F)
